Zara Roth

Zara Roth holds a graduate degree in mental health counseling from Northwestern University, as well as a certificate in child and adolescent psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic and well-rounded, and her background in psychodynamic psychotherapy allows her to dive into the unconscious, create self-awareness, and formulate practical solutions for clients dealing with trauma, personality disorders, depression, and anxiety. She has previously worked at a DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) clinic specializing in borderline personality disorder and high-acuity patients, as well as at a rehab clinic where she was responsible for conducting assessments, therapy groups, and individual sessions.

Zara takes an individualized approach to each client and tailors treatment plans based on their unique and specific needs. She uses established therapeutic modalities as well as somatic, sports, music, dance, and laugh therapy. She believes that many existential questions can be answered using the wisdom of philosophers throughout history. She has a particular interest in working with marginalized communities and advocating for multicultural and feminist issues. Zara believes a main factor in mental health issues is the natural human reaction to a society which makes us sick. Her interests include the psychology of capitalism, complex trauma, eco-anxiety, and psychedelic therapy. Her specialities are ADHD, Borderline Personality Disorder, substance abuse, PTSD, and depression/anxiety.
